BUDDHA: The Science in Cycling

Another contribution by Buddha subscriber Andrew Wood from the endless fund of
(unintentional) humor that is the on-line cycling community.

Sorry for the hiatus in Buddha, folks - it's been a busy life.

Thank you, Wren, for telling me about this. I appreciate the advice
because I am a bicycle racer and I am looking for a diet that can
enable me to push my performance to its limit.

I have another question for you: I understand that there are
special foods that can raise a person's fitness level, particularly
their aerobic fitness. The first food I have heard this about
is bee pollen. That makes sense to me because I have heard it
said that the bumble bee is actually not able to fly, at least
according to scientists. So in order to fly the bumble bee must
be really fit.

The other food I have heard this about is human placenta. I understand
that in the United Kingdom this food is available in powdered form.
That seems really wonderful to me, that women are willing to give
of their maternal energies to others. I also think that this would
help the environment, as it is much kinder to the rain forest
than eating meat. My only concern is that there would be slow
acting virustes in the tissues of women who were not good to themselves
and ate meat. I wonder if there's any product in which we can be
sure the placenta only came from vegitarian women. That would be
really nice.
