I was talking with Marie about this just a week or two ago. She
and Melissa are planning to go... "of course". They say that
His Holiness reckons on just ten years before all that was
Tibet, and still is, is irreparably damaged. So they're spreading
seeds of all that was/is Tibet throughout the world, in the hope
that something may remain after Tibet is no more.

Of course one hopes that the pressure will lift from Tibet so that
something may remain to grow again there, but the pressure has been
great and ten years is not long.

The Kalachakra initiation will be in a football stadium or something,
and there should be lots of international visitors for the week.
I guess people from Thailand; maybe Japan; Taiwan... it's *the*
big initiation, and the chance to participate is very special.
It should be impressive! If you have a chance, you should consider
going. I don't think you particularly need any training or
knowledge beforehand: His Holiness does the work! I guess you could
call it a blessing as much as an initiation.

I remember when i was in India back in '85, His Holiness performed
the Kalachakra at Dharamsala and tens of thousands of his people
crossed the mountains, disregarding all the borders, to be there.
I didn't know anything then except that "a big initiation" was
being done up at Dharamsala and i didn't go, but India seemed
full of Tibetans for a while. Some had just flown in from wherever
they lived in exile, but many many Tibetans still living in Tibet
... "simply came".
