How y’all been?

I’m fantastic Since last we spoke, I’ve been away to the countryside for a few days, had a birthday and been working like a demon. Things are good! Oh, and I booked my flights to the US for this in Denver - which is exciting. If you’re in Portland, Seattle or Denver/Boulder and you’d like to […]

In Kosmic Blogging: Blogging Down to the Metal Jay Allen of The Pagan Bodhisattva talks about how and why he blogs, partly in homage to ~C4Chaos’s manifesto on Kosmic Blogging. Jay’s is another voice pointing to using tags in place of categories on your own blog in addition to participating in the tag-o-sphere. He also points out […]

Burkhanism

So many reasons to love Wikipedia when you’re an unreformed obscurantist like me. I start with an innocent enough question to answer about the key forms of Yoga. That leads me to Agni Yoga, which leads me among other places to Oomoto (and on to Shinshukyo), Burkhanism, stuff about the Holy Grail, Akbar the Great. Burkhanism […]

Frank is in the house!

Frank Visser who runs World of Ken Wilber has started a blog. Welcome to the blogosphere, Frank! Let’s hope you post more than I do Technorati Tags: integral

Out of body - out of Flow

Got wrapped up in a big project recently and slowly allowed my usual methods of staying balanced to slip. This happens every few months and I wind up wound up, stuck in my fretting head and unable to Get Anything At All Done. Eventually, I realised where I’d let myself go to, took a whole […]

So far, so good…

Y’all can look forward to a few little changes in the next few days as I fiddle with templates, make sure all my plugins work and, possibly, pull of my usual trick of corrupting the database. So far, though, Wordpress 2.0 rocks. The admin interface is lovely.

Mmmm Markdown

Dave raves about Markdown, so I thought I’d try it. Hooray. More syntax to learn. Excitingly, ecto’s preview functions seems to deal with it!

Loosely coupled blog

I’ve just started trying to use more of the data I publish in other places on my blog using the Javascript sticker code that many sites now provide. It makes this page slower to load, so I’m sorry about that. Right now, you should be able to see in the sidebar: my Technorati headshot and some linksMy […]

Rolled over

So, I just put in a little effort to roll all my blog posts from prior blogs over to this one. You’ll notice a hole in 2003-2004 where I just didn’t post anything. Also, I omitted any post whose only topic was about how little I blog or that I’m not blogging. Didn’t seem that […]

Behold. Wordpress.

The latest step in my blogging software migration saga is that I’ve moved from blosxom+BXR+ecto to Wordpress+ecto. Hopefully, my five readers might have noticed.

blogging = performance art

In this comment from GenSit by Matthew Dallman, the arch-patriarch of integral music, appeals to a theatrical/performance art metaphor for blogging. My jaw dropped. It’s one of those beautiful insights that is unthinkable before you hear it and so obvious afterwards that you’re embarrassed to say it because everyone else must have already worked it […]

NewsFire

So, David Watanabe’s Acquisition has been my favourite filesharing client for ages, mostly because it’s so much nicer looking and easier to use than the competition. This week I thought I’d give his NewsFire aggregator as an alternative to Bloglines mostly because it’s so much nicer looking than the competition. Plus it has a menu item […]
