Well, the plan is that during the formation programme, I start to develop a local community group with a spiritual practice, study and ritual component. At some point in the programme I go to Canada and get ordained a Deacon, so I come back and minister to that community as a Deacon. Once I make it through the programme, I get ordained a Priest and then I act as a priest to that community.

A bit obvious, I suppose. What I'd like to do with the community is slowly move it from being a study group to being an actual church: we make links to other religious groups, we do community work as well as our own spiritual practice.

Some where in there, I need to find someone who'll loan us a chapel for services.

As well as all that, I'd like to be fairly active in inter-religious dialogue in Sydney. Putting a Gnostic voice next to the Anglicans and the Catholics, to trouble a few of the simplifications that this sort of thing seems prone to.

In terms of the community, I see the importance of the role in terms of the sacraments - actually doing the rituals and also acting as a sort of spiritual coach.

Not sure if that's the answer you were after. If not, let me know.

Thanks, Chris!

I found the AJC via Fr Jordan and he's got some great stuff on the basics of Gnosticism. Check out the links under the Getting Started heading at his blog

Congratulations, thats wonderful, perhaps not a surprise. Though the form of it is, I'd like to learn more. Any better links about gnostic thought than the pedia? Again, congrats!
